John W. Warman of the Methodist Church had charge of the services. Interment in the Union Cemetery under the direction of W. C. Price and Son. The young man was the son of Paul D. and Grace (Beal) Gerhart, who survive him, together with the following fourteen brothers and sisters: Charles in the U.S. Army in Alaska; Homer W. at Leesdale Camp, Louisiana; Paul, Mabel, Irene, Sadie, Florence, Manella, Jack, Woodrow, James and Kenneth, at home; Mrs. Foster Bingham, Hyndman, and Mrs. Woodrow Engle, Turtle Creek. Ray has been a sufferer from a heart ailment for a period of years. He was not able to attend school for the past two years. Meyersdale Republican, November 19, 1942
