Ghrist Sr., 65, South Greensburg, dies Saturday, July 25, 1987, in Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg. Born Oct. 14, 1921, in Greensburg, son of the late Jesse Edward and Bernice (Elsbury) Ghrist. Preceded in death by his first wife, Sylvia I. (Croushore) Ghrist, and a brother, Charles E. Ghrist. Survived by his wife, Anna Marie (Hittie) Shaulis Ghrist; three sons: David A. Ghrist and William H. Ghrist Jr., both of Atlanta, Ga.; and Thomas E. Ghrist, Greensburg; a daughter, Mrs. Delbert (Janet) Blair, Atlanta, Ga.; seven grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. John (Donna) Moore, Greensburg. He was a member of the Church of the Brethren, Greensburg. U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. Viewing at the church of the Brethren from 10:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Monday, the time of service in the church, with the Rev. James V. D'Amico officiating. Interment, Westmoreland County Memorial Park.
