"Tucker" Gibbs, 69, of Fort Hill, died March 14, 2002 in Patriot Manor, Somerset. He was born Feb. 17, 1933 in Friendsville, Md. A son of the late Mason and Myrtle (Linsey) Gibbs. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by step-sons James and Larry Mitchell and sisters Audrey, Loretta and Josephine. He is survived by his wife Hilda (Phillippi) Gibbs, a son Randy, of Confluence, daughter Darlene of Addison, and step-sons Ronald Mitchell, Fort Hill, Terry Mitchell, Ursina, and Roger Mitchell, Addison, sixteen grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, a brother, Wilbur Gibbs, Lonaconing, Md., and sisters Beatrice Artice, Shirley Coddington and Gladys Elliott, all of Friendsville, Md. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War and a life member of Confluence VFW Post 7250. Friends will be received from 2 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Humbert Funeral Home, Confluence, where service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday with the Rev. Ronald Schaeffer officiating.
