He is survived by four sons and one daughter, namely: William and Robert Gibson Jr., of Akron, Ohio; Clarence of Marland, Mich.; Clifford of Glitson, Pa.; and Martha, wife of Henry Patton of West Salisbury. Mr. Gibson was a quiet, unassuming and good-natured man, and came into the Elk Lick coal region soon after it had some of the heavier producing mines in operation. It is said that he had coal mining down to a fine art before he left Scotland. Be that as it may, he was numbered among the most skillful pick miners of the Elk Lick region for many years. Funeral services were held at the funeral parlors of Mortician Stanley M. Thomas, Salisbury, at 2 p.m., last Sunday, and were conducted by Rev. J. B. Warman, pastor of the Meyersdale and Salisbury Methodist churches. Interment was in the Salisbury I.O.O.F. Cemetery, under the direction of Mortician Thomas. Meyersdale Republican, August 12, 1943
