He moved to Chiefland in August 1983, from Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. where he lived for 28 years. A retired general superintendent, he worked with Dorsey Young Construction Co. for 21 years, retiring in 1981. Mr. Gindlesperger and his brother, the late Sherman Gindlesperger Sr., designed and built the Green Gables Restaurant and the Mountain Playhouse in 1947-50. A World War II veteran, serving with the U.S. Seabees, he was a member of the Protestant faith. Survivors include his wife, Emma Mae of Chiefland; three sons, Donald Neil of Fanning Springs, Fla.; Gary W. of Orlando, Fla; and Larry E. of Valley Forge, Pa.; sister, Elizabeth Weimer of Harrison, Pa.; and five grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 3 p.m. from Knauff Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Chiefland Cemetery under the direction of Knauff funeral Home, Chiefland.
