"Mom" 05/05/08 Daily American Violet M. "Mom" Gindlesperger, 88, Windber, died May 3, 2008, at home. Born Sept. 27, 1919, in Garrett, the daughter of the late Irvin and Catherine (Miller) Ohler. Also preceded in death by husband, Melvin F., in 1986; brothers, Roy, Leo, Harold and Elmer Ohler; sister, Virginia Puricelli and her husband, Frank; sister-in-law, Darlene Ohler; and an infant sister. Survived by these children, Shirley, widow of Kenneth Beynon, Carol Hutchison and special friend, Daniel Mishler, and David Gindlesperger, all of Windber. Also survived by former daughter- in-law, LuAnne Stevens, Windber. Sister of Gene Ohler, Garrett; Betty, wife of Ray Mills, McDonald; Bill Ohler and wife, Betty, Clifton Park, N.Y.; Don Ohler and wife, Phyllis, Berlin; Carol, wife of Larry Baughman, Somerset; and Joann, wife of Jay Buratty, Berlin. Sister-in-law of Mary Ohler, widow of Roy, Meyersdale; Esther Ohler, widow of Leo, Berlin; Goldie, widow of Harold, Somerset; Joan, widow of Elmer, Arizona. Also numerous nieces and nephews. Grandmother of Connie, wife of Brian Ishman, Donnie Hutchison and special friend, Lisa Gahagan, Kim, wife of Jeff Rich, Kelly, wife of Andy Marcinko, Keith Gindlesperger, married to Jodi Leventry, and Lisa Gindlesperger; 14 great-grandchildren and six Great-great-grandchildren. Owned and operated Hilltop Diner for nearly 20 years. Violet was an avid pinochle player. She loved cooking, baking, gardening and spending time with her family and friends. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Meek and Dalla Valle Funeral Home Inc., Windber, where service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday. The Rev.
