Gisewhite, 80, Glessner Road, Johnstown (Benscreek), died Dec. 2, 1999, at home. Born Dec. 27, 1918, in Bellefonte, son of Samuel and Emma Mae (Lambert) Gisewhite. Preceded in death by parents; son, Herbert John Gisewhite in 1948; sisters: Hazel and Eleanor; and brother, Robert. Survived by wife, the former Martha Charley; daughters: Emma Jean, wife of Larry Benson, Plano, Texas; and Bernetta, wife of Alvin Crislip, Arundel, Md.; twin daughters Michelle, wife of Walter "Casey" Schneck, Davidsville, and Patricia, wife of Lawrence Endler, Benscreek; grandchildren: Pamela, Karen, Christina, Curt, John and Paul; seven great-grandchildren and brother, Phillip, Akron, Ohio. Navy veteran of World War II. Avid golfer. Retired assistant to the superintendent, Wheel and Axle Division, former Johnstown Plant, Bethlehem Steel Corp. Observed 59th wedding anniversary Aug. 26, 1999. Friends received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday at the Hoffman Funeral Home, Route 403 and Church Road, Davidsville, where service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, with the Rev. Valerie Conrad-Dembinsky officiating. Interment, Forest Lawn Cemetery, Johnstown. Graveside military rite in charge of the Menoher Post 155 VFW ritual team.
