Dr. Givens was chief of food sanitation and animal disease control of Louisville and Jefferson County, Ky. He was a graduate of West Carrollton High School, Class of '46, a graduate of the Ohio State School of Agriculture, Class of '53, a graduate of the Ohio State School of Veterinary Medicine, Class of '57, and a Veteran of World War II. Dr. Givens also received his masters in Public Health at the University of California. Survived by his wife, Audra E., his mother, Rena Givens, two sons, Dan and tom, two sisters, Mary Ellen Pefley and Shirley Houston, Rockwood RD 2. At Dr. Givens request, his body was cremated and a memorial service was conducted July 6, at Swart Funeral Home, West Carrolton, Ohio. Daily American, July 20, 1978 [G0499]
