  HAZEL M. GLASS
  
  Mrs. Hazel M. Glass, 84, of Meyersdale died Oct. 21, 1979, in Meyersdale
  Community Hospital.  Born Jan. 30, 1895 in Lemont, Ill., a daughter of the
  late James and Edna (Hoffman) McGilvery.  Preceded in death by husband, Dr.
  Creed C. Glass.  Survived by these children: Creed C. Jr., Longwood, Fla.;
  Shirley, wife of Dr. F.D. Carroll, Rye, N.Y.; and Emily Jane, wife of Dale
  Fike, Johnstown; also four grandchildren.  Graduate of West Penn Hospital
  School of Nursing.  Her late husband established a hospital in Meyersdale
  in 1922 which was named the Hazel McGilvery Hospital in honor of Mrs.
  Glass.  She later established a school of practical nursing in the
  hospital.  She was a member of the SS. Philip and James Catholic Church. 
  She was active in the Farm Women and Pa. Maple Festival.  Friends will be
  received from 7-9 p.m. Monday and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the Price
  Funeral Home, Meyersdale.  Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 a.m.
  Wednesday at SS. Philips and James Catholic Church with the Rev. J. Clark
  George officiating.  Interment, church cemetery.  Rosary will be said 9
  p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, make contributions
  to Meyersdale Community Hospital.
