Born in Somerset in 1921 to Alvin Stoy and Evelyn (nee Miller) Glessner Sr. He is survived by his wife, Margaret (nee Speicher) Glessner. They were married for 26 years. Alvin was preceded in death by his first wife, Ingrid Anderson Glessner, in 1969. He served in the Army during World War II. While in Pittsburgh, he worked at Gulf Research as a chemist. He moved to the Delaware Valley area in 1956, where he worked for Crown, Cork and Seal until retiring in 1987. Alvin was a member of Gloria Dei Church and of American Legion Post 0945. His services were private. Interment, Plum Creek Cemetery, Pittsburgh. Memorials in Alvin's name may be made to Gloria Dei Church, 570 Welsh Road, Huntingdon Valley, Pa. 19006.
