Born Sept. 15, 1911, in Jefferson Township, daughter of Franklin Cleveland and E. Ellen (Howard) Darr. Preceded in death by parents; and husband Jacob Rei Glessner, who died Dec. 10, 1954; son, Marvin Glessner; daughter, Arlene Cassler; daughter-in-law, Amelia Glessner; grandsons, Kevin Glessner and Tim Glessner; great-granddaughter, Samantha Cassler; two infant brothers and also these brothers, Earl Bisel, Clark, Howard and Frank Jr. Darr. Also favorite sister-in-law, Estella Glessner-Mazer. Survived by children: Larry R. Glessner, married to the former Joanne Maranoski, Somerset; Mrs. Daniel (Kay Ellen) Stanczyk, York; nine grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; son-in-law, Donald E. Cassler, Pittsburgh and favorite sister-in-law, Eleanor Darr. Member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ where she was active teaching Sunday school for many years. Also active with women's fellowship, kitchen committee and various other committee work. Her later years were devoted to the quilters group who quilted weekly and contributed to many causes. She had also attended Cambria-Rowe Business College and had worked as a sewing machine operator for Bender Shoe Company retiring in 1977 with 23 years of service. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home. Service will be conducted 11 a.m. Friday at St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Somerset. The Rev. Dr. Herbert Hicks officiating. Interment Somerset County Memorial Park. Contributions may be made to St. Paul's UCC, 202 West Union St., Somerset, PA 15501. There will be viewing at the church one hour prior to the service.
