Jacob Glessner, 80, of Broadway, Berlin, died Jan. 20, 1973, in Berlin. He was born Sept. 2, 1892, in Brothersvalley Township, a son of the late Franklin P. and Sarah (Miller) Glessner. He was preceded in death by two sisters and four brothers. Surviving are his wife, the former Eunice Walker; a daughter, Mrs. Faye Bowser of Wintersville, Ohio; and a granddaughter, Donalee Bowser. He was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Berlin, where he served as deacon and elder; a member and past president of Berlin Lions Club; and was a member of Berlin IOOF Lodge for 54 years. A farmer in Brothersvalley Township for many years, he also worked from 1937 to 1961 with the Farmer's Home Administration, and for seven years he was employed in the Somerset County assessor's office. Funeral service was held Tuesday afternoon in Johnson and Son Funeral Home, Berlin, with Rev. Charles W. Sigler officiating. Interment in IOOF Cemetery, Berlin.
