Glessner, was killed on the East Race Street railroad crossing in Somerset boro Wednesday. Glessner was knocked from his wagon & either fell on his head or was struck by the engine, causing almost instant death. The wagon was slightly damaged & one of the horses was injured. The decedent was about 37 yrs. of age & married, leaving his wife, one child & a number of brothers & sisters. He came to Somerset for lime, driving two horses in a large wagon. After the wagon was loaded, shortly after 1 o'clock, he started to drive across the railroad tracks from the rear of Beerits warehouse. A box-car standing on a side track may have obscured his view. At any rate, when he was on the track the wagon was struck by a light engine running toward Rockwood. Glessner managed his father's farm near Boone. Meyersdale Republican, Sept. 7, 1916
