Glessner, 83, of Berlin, R.D. 1, died suddenly of a heart attack at the home of his son, Harner Glessner, Wednesday, Dec. 17, at 7:00 p.m. He was the last surviving son of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Glessner and was born April 6, 1864, and spent his entire life in Somerset County. He was a farmer all of his adult life until his retirement a few years ago. He was twice married. His first wife was Sadie Weigel; his second wife was Sadie Brant. Both wives preceded him in death. The following children survive: Victor B. Glessner, Berlin, R.D. 1; Mrs. Maria G. Fuller, Harrisburg; Rev. J. C. Glessner, of Kiruk, Iraq; Sherman Glessner, Berlin R.D. 4; Rei Glessner, Somerset R.D.; Harner and Harold Glessner, Berlin, R.D. 1; Mrs. Kenneth Mazer, Hyndman R.D. Also surviving is a sister, Mrs. Sarah Miller, oldest of the Glessner family, Carleton, Nebr. Funeral services were held last Saturday at 2:30 p.m., in the Roxbury Reformed Church, Rev. Arthur J. Miller officiating. Interment in the Berlin I.O.O.F. Cemetery under direction of Johnson & Son. Meyersdale Republican, December 25, 1947
