John F. Glessner, 65, Buckhannon, W.Va., went to join the Lord March 31, 2007. Rev. Glessner was born in Somerset, July 19, 1941. Rev. Glessner was preceded in death by his father, Harold and mother, Estella and sister, Marjorie Combs. Rev. Glessner was a loving husband, father and "happy pappy" and will be deeply missed. He leaves behind, his loving wife, Janet Glessner; his daughter and son-in-law, Jackie and Randy Pakos, Nile, Ohio; his son, John F. Glessner Jr., San Francisco; son and daughter-in-law, Daniel and Amy Glessner, Monroe Falls, Ohio; his son and daughter-in-law, David and Valerie Glessner, stationed at Mildenhall AFB, England; his daughter and future son-in-law, Tina Glessner and Levi Elza, Clarksburg; his daughter, Karla Glessner, Buckhannon; his loving grandchildren, Sean and Nicole Pakos, and Alex, Hayley and Ashleigh Glessner; his brother Ken Glessner; and sisters, Glenda Landis, Polly Bell and Janie Watkins. After many years of farming and sales, Rev. Glessner graduated from United Theological Seminary, Dayton, Ohio. He enjoyed 18 years of service in the ministry of the United Methodist Church before retiring in 2006. He will always be remembered for one of the many smiles he put on our faces throughout the years. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Stump Funeral Home, Arnoldsburg, where a funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday. The Rev. Stanley Ash officiating. Interment in the Orma United Methodist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to People's Hospice of Clarksburg or the American Cancer Society.
