Glessner, a Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company employe, died suddenly at his home in Rootstown, Ohio, Tuesday evening, February 10, from a heart attack, soon after his return home from his day's work. He was 59 years of age. He was born in Meyersdale, and had lived in Ohio 35 years, the past 11 years in Rootstown. He had worked for Goodyear 20 years, and was a graduate of the Goodyear Flying Squadron. He was a member of the Knights of Pythias and of Grace Reformed Church of Akron. He was a veteran of World War I. Surviving are his wife, Clara (Weimer) Glessner, formerly of Meyersdale; his father, John H. Glessner, of Meyersdale; seven sisters, Mrs. Margaret Bottorf, St. Petersburg, Fla.; Mrs. Rebecca Jones, Etna, Pa.; Mrs. Hulda Temme, Meyersdale R.D.; Mrs. Ruth Braun, Wilkinsburg; Mrs. Fannie Harper, Daytona Beach, Fla.; Mrs. Zura Mitchell, Monmouth, Ill.; Mrs. Freda Leabo, Kansas City, Mo.; and one brother, Gilbert D. Glessner, Daytona Beach, Fla. Friends were received at the Wolf Funeral Home, Ravenna, O., from Monday until Wednesday morning when the remains were removed to the Adams Funeral Home in Akron, where funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Tuesday. Burial was made in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Akron. His father, John H. Glessner of Trans-Meyersdale, who is 90 years of age, was unable to attend the funeral services.
