Glessner, 57, Boswell RD 1, died unexpectedly Feb. 23, 1984, at home. Born Oct. 5, 1926, in Conemaugh Township, son of Theodore C. and Florence A. (Stevens) Glessner Sr. Preceded in death by father, who died March 26, 1972. Survived by mother, Boswell RD 1: widow, the former Dorothy Croyle; two sons: Richard W., married to the former Gail Weyant, Boswell RD 1; Larry R., married to the former Nancy Phillips, Johnstown RD 7; three grandchildren: Erin, Jon and Amanda. Brother of: Charles, married to the former Lorraine Henry, Jennerstown; Theodore C. "Bud," married to the former Dorothy Everett, Boswell. Member of Jenner Township Baptist Church; Boswell Volunteer Fire Department; Fraternal Order of Police, Lodge 57, Bedford; and Post 554 V.F.W., Somerset. Very active member of the Democratic party, owner-operator of R. and L. Tire Sales, Boswell RD 1. Navy veteran of World War II. Friends received from 7-9 p.m. Friday and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Saturday and until noon Sunday at Hoffman Funeral Home, 409 Main St., Boswell, when body will be removed to Maple Spring Church of the Brethren near Jerome for viewing from 1 p.m. until time of service at 2 p.m., with the Rev. R. Eugene Miller, assisted by the Rev. Robert J. Horner and the Rev. Chauncey J. Ickes officiating. Interment, Maple Spring Cemetery. Daily American, February 24, 1984 [G0589]
