Glessner, 75, of Salisbury and formerly of Garrett, died suddenly May 28, 1978, in Meyersdale. Born Jan. 13, 1903, in Brothersvally [sic] Township, a son of the late Howard and Elmira (Brant) Glessner. Preceded in death by his first wife, the former Mazie Werner, and second wife, the former Bessie Keefer; and a daughter, Jane Delores. Survived by his present wife, the former Evelyn Beynon; and these children: Alden Glessner of Southfield, Mich.; James Rork of Akron, Ohio; Gene Glessner of Pittsburgh; Donald Glessner of Salisbury; Mrs. Nellie Lottig of Meyersdale RD 1; Mrs. Vella Watson of Meyersdale; Mrs. Edna Housel of Salisbury; also a step-daughter, Mrs. Helen Libbert of Downey, Calif; also 17 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. A brother of George of Somerset and Paul of Cumberland, Md. He owned and operated the Hotel Glessner in Garrett for 19 years prior to his retirement. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the Price Funeral Home, Meyersdale, where services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Ernest Rumbaugh officiating.
