Glessner, 74, of Friedens passed away Jan. 15, 2001, at home. Born Feb. 18, 1926, in Allegheny Township. Son of the late Benjamin and Nellie (Caton) Glessner. Preceded in death by granddaughter Jennifer Hottle and great-grandson Kegan Law. Survived by wife Dorothy (Monnett) Glessner, son William R. and wife Barbara of Berlin, daughters Linda Hottle of Friedens and Joyce, married to Larry Weigle, of Stoystown, seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Veteran of the U.S. Navy in World War II. He was a retired employee of the Somerset Rural Electric Cooperative. He was a member of the Laurel Ridge Sportsmen's Club. He attended the Sarver Community Church in Berlin. Friends will be received from 4 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Miller Funeral Home, Somerset, where a service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, with the Rev. Larry Weigle and the Rev. Richard Sciranko officiating. Interment, Sarver Church Cemetery. Daily American, January 17, 2001 [G0608]
