All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/somerset/ ________________________________________________ GURNEY GLOTFELTY Gurney Glotfelty, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. David Glotfelty, Sr., died at the home of his son, Dr. Earl Glotfelty, in Waynesboro, Pa., Sept. 15, 1941, in his 79th year, after suffering much from paralysis complicated with other ailments during the last few years. In addition to the son mentioned, he is also survived by a married daughter and one sister. The surviving sister is Mrs. Mary Newman, a resident of Salisbury, widow of the late Nevin R. Newman. Mr. Glotfelty was born and reared in Elk Lick Township, and was preceded in death by his wife and the following brothers and sisters, who were all well known in Salisbury and vicinity: Marion, Richard, Samuel and George, Mrs. Ambrose Deal and Mrs. Nelson Garlitz. He was also preceded in death by a half- brother, the late Tunison Glotfelty, who was the eldest of the six sons of the late David Glotfelty, Sr. Gurney Glotfelty was loved and respected by all who knew him, and was a man of intelligence, kindness and much sociability.
