Glotfelty, in the Union Memorial Hospital, Baltimore, on Monday morning, April 7, came as a shock to her many friends and relatives. Mrs. Glotfelty was taken to the Hospital on March 25 for an operation. She had been suffering for several months from an affection in her head which was pronounced a tumor and rapidly grew worse. She submitted to an operation last Thursday. The surgeons found a tumor in her brain, which could not be removed. She rallied from the operation for a short while, but soon relapsed and remained unconscious until she passed away. Mrs. Glotfelty was a daughter of the late Jesse C. and Nancy Miller. She was born at Pocahontas, Pa., on May 16, 1887, being in her 53rd year when she passed away. She was the second wife of Mr. Glotfelty, his first wife, Addie Longsdorf, having passed away many years ago. She is survived by her husband and the following children: Mrs. Thelma Shearer, Frostburg; Ralph, of Kingwood, W.Va.; Harold, Orlando and Pauline, at home, and five grandchildren; also by the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. Edith Mammau and Mrs. Nancy Engle, Berlin, Pa.; Mrs. Etta Doerr, Grantsville; Charles Miller, Connellsville; Russell Miller, Greensburg, Pa.; William Miller, Meyersdale, and half-brothers and sisters - John and Edward Miller, Akron, O.; Irvin Miller, Pocahontas; Mrs. Emma Poorbaugh and Mrs. Nancy Brill, Somerset, Pa.; Mrs. Grace Selders, Akron, O., Mrs. Ada Slagle, Meyersdale. Mr. and Mrs. Glotfelty were married in April 1899. They lived in Salisbury several years, later moving to the Gephart farm near Grantsville and then they moved to Grantsville where they lived the last 12 years. Mrs. Glotfelty made many friends since coming here, who will miss her for her kindness to them in many ways. She was of an amiable disposition and was a wonderful home maker and mother. She will be greatly missed in the home and the community. She became a member of the Reformed Church, Nov. 22, 1891, at Pocahontas, later transferring her membership to the Grantsville church. She was a faithful attendant and worker whenever she could help. Funeral services will be held Thursday morning, April 10, in the Reformed Church, her former pastor, Rev. L. N. Wilson, of Berlin, Pa., officiating. Interment will be made in the Grantsville cemetery. Meyersdale Republican, April 10, 1930
