Born Nov. 8, 1950, in Johnstown, daughter of Kenneth and Shirley (Martin) Burgess. Preceded in death by parents. Survived by husband of 34 years, Frank L.; daughter, Melanie, wife of Brian Byer, Johnstown; and one grandson, Jackson. She is a sister of Michael, and his wife, Mary Ann Burgess, Johnstown; Carrie, wife of William Bloom, Lancaster; Kim, wife of Donald Jerasa, Perkasie; and sister-in-law of Ronald and Jackie Roman, Johnstown. Also survived by nieces and nephews, Ronnie and Brenda Roman; Bobbi Jo and Robbie Witten; Eric and Shelly Roman; Laurie and Donald Blasko; Melinda and Ryan Stevens; Douglas Bloom; Michael Burgess; Timmy Burgess; Reed Jerasa; and Heather Jerasa; and numerous great-nieces and nephews. Member of St. David's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Davidsville, where she served as a church lector. She was employed as office manager for Drs. Ernest J. and Rocco M. Mantini, DMD. She was active with the Girl Scouts. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Moose Lodge. She was co-founder of Frank, Missie and Mel's Family Hide-away in Confluence. Family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at George W. Mason Funeral Home Inc., Davidsville. A funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. David's Lutheran Church, Davidsville. The Rev. Susan Yatta. Interment Grandview Cemetery.
