Gnagey, 75, Somerset, died Jan. 5, 1983, at his residence. He was born March 22, 1907, in Meyersdale, a son of the late William H. and Anna (Walker) Gnagey. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth, in 1982; also by three brothers: Dalton, Edgar and John. He is survived by son, James S., Somerset RD 6; three granddaughters: Tracey, Ft. Pierce, Fla.; Beth, Pittsburgh; and Judy, at home. He was a brother of: Mary Maust, Windber; Margaret Rummel, Lancaster; and Mildred Gnagey, Somerset. He was a charter member of the Somerset Church of the Brethren; member of the I.O.O.F. Lodge No. 438, Somerset; and the SAR. He owned and operated Gnagey Vault Co. from 1951 until his retirement in 1970. Friends were received in the Richard E. Hauger Funeral Home where services were conducted with the Rev. Roger Forry officiating. Interment, Somerset County Memorial Park. Family requests that contributions may be made to the Heart Fund or the Somerset Church of the Brethren I.O.O.F.
