Born June 5, 1928, in Somerset, son of James Samuel and Ruth Mae (Spangler) Gnagey. Preceded in death by parents. Survived by his wife, the former Janet Louise Gerhardt, to whom he was married 44 years and these children: Mrs. William W. (Tracey Ellen) Sparks, Denton, N.C.; Mrs. John O. (Beth Ann) McBride, South Haven, Mich,; and Mrs. Michael L. (Judith Lynn) Gnagey-Davis, Somerset; one grandson, William James Sparks. Member of the Somerset High School Class of 1948, Member of Trinity Lutheran Church, past Nobel Grand of IOOF Lodge of Somerset, owner/manager of Gnagey vault and Gnagey Pre-Cast Companies, retiring in 1978. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., Sunday, at Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home, Somerset. Services will be conducted at 11 a.m., Monday, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Somerset, with the Rev. Robert L. Hoover Jr. officiating. No viewing at the church. Interment in Somerset County Memorial Park.
