Gnagey of Meyersdale, Route 3, died at her home about 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 24th. Mrs. Gnagey had been in ill health for about 15 years, and was in serious condition for five days prior to her passing. She was born in Summit Township on July 25, 1895, a daughter of Wilson A. and the late Ida (Hostetler) Miller, and was 51 years, 9 months and 29 days in age at her death. She was a long-time member of the Meyersdale Church of the Brethren and was a member of the Auxiliary of John C. Tressler Post of the V.F.W. In addition to her husband and her father, she is survived by two daughters - Anna Bertha, wife of Paul Christner of Trans-Meyersdale, and Arlene Laverne, wife of Richard Beal of Washington, Pa.; one son, Robert N. Gnagey, Washington, D.C.; one brother, Earl Miller, of Meyersdale; seven sisters - Mrs. Melvin Lindeman, Mrs. W. R. Snyder, Mrs. Hiram Walker and Mrs. Donald Barmoy, all of Meyersdale; Mrs. Samuel Osgood, Grant's Pass, Oregon; Mrs. Robert Shockey, Greenville Township, and Mrs. James Shockey, Wheeling, W.Va. and three grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted in the Meyersdale Church of the Brethren at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 27th, Rev. S. Loren Bowman officiating. Interment in Meyersdale Union Cemetery in charge of Mortician Stanley M. Thomas of Salisbury. Meyersdale Republican, May 29, 1947
