Gnagey, 66, of North Fort Myers, Fla., died suddenly Feb. 12, 2001. He was born in Somerset, the son of John and Catherine Gnagey. Preceded in death by parents and brother, John Gnagey Jr. Survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Judy (Custer); 2 daughters, Jill (Tex) Christman, bonita (sic) Springs, and Karen (Bryan) Hendricks, Ramstein, Germany; son, Michael of Ft. Myers; sister, Dorothy Wadsworth, Lancaster; and 5 grandchildren. He was a 1952 graduate of Somerset High School. He served in the U.S. Army Security Service from 1954-57 and was a graduate of the University of Tampa. He has been residing in Ft. Meyers since 1962. He was the director of recreation and residential care at Gulf Coast Center, formerly Sunland Training Center. He then was the administrative director of Community Services for Lee County, Fla. He was a construction superintendent for RLD Homes Ind. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Ft. Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home Chapel, with visitation one hour prior to services. Private interment will be in the Ft. Myers Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Daily American, February 15, 2001 [G0680]
