ROBERT L. GNAGEY

  Robert L. Gnagey, 81, beloved husband of Mary (Suter) Gnagey, Wilhelm Road, Hermitage,
died Sept. 4, 2006, in Summa Health Systems, Akron, Ohio.  Born Feb. 10, 1925, in Berlin,
he is the son of the late Walter G. and Ella (Musser) Gnagey.  He is preceded in death by
his sister, Betty Geist.  Surviving, in addition to his wife of 56 years, are four
children, two daughters, Pamela, wife of Bruce Surgeoner, Boyertown; and Lisa, wife of
David Lang, Rogers, Ark.; two sons, Daniel, husband of Janine (Peterson) Hermitage; and
Brian, husband of Shayne (Johnson), Akron, Ohio; and eight grandchildren: Bryn and Brent
Surgeoner, Ashlyn Lang, Ryan and Allison Gnagey and Tristan, Braiden and Gavin Gnagey. 
Bob was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Hermitage, where he had served as
a deacon.  A 32nd degree Mason, he was a 50-year member of the Meyersdale Lodge 554, and a
member of the Western Pa. Teamsters.  After retiring from Cooper-Jarrett Trucking,
Hermitage, Bob drove school bus for the Hermitage School District.  Along with spending
time with his family, he enjoyed fishing, gardening and woodworking.  An avid golfer, Bob
was a member of the Hickory VFW and Birchwood golf leagues.  A private memorial service
will be held in the John Flynn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bill Mills of St. Paul's
United Church of Christ.  Friends may send condolences by e-mail to
