  Richard E. Gnesda Sr.

  Richard E. Gnesda Sr., 73, Stoystown, died March 24, 2004, at Somerset
  Hospital.  Born Sept. 5, 1930, in Adamsburg, he is the son of Frank and
  Dorothy (Smith) Gnesda Sr.  Preceded in death by his parents and a brother,
  Frank Jr.  Survived by his wife of 53 years the former Marian Fait;
  children, Karen married to Rob Rembold, Steubenville, Ohio, Susan married
  to Robert Katkowski, Friedens; Dawn, Atlanta; Richard E. Jr., Latrobe; John
  married to the former Lori Bussard, Stoystown; James married to the former
  Susan Day, Granby, Conn.; eight grandchildren; brother of William,
  Greensburg; Dorothy Stough and Claudia Wolfgang, both of Adamsburg and
  crossword companion Carolyn Good.  Member of Horner Lutheran Church,
  Stoystown and also Teamsters Union Local 30.  He was a former delivery
  person for the former Shrums Dairy of Jeannette, also former custodian for
  Hempfield School District, and former dairy manager at Shop & Save,
  Jeannette.  He was an avid outdoorsman and a former draftee for the Boston
  Red Sox 1950.  Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
  Friday at Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown.  Funeral service 10 a.m. Saturday
  at Horner Lutheran Church, Stoystown.  The Rev. Kathleen A. Kuehl
  officiating.  There will be no viewing at church.  Interment, Horner-Mt.
  Tabor Cemetery.
