Goad, 68, proprietor of a hotel in Hyndman for a number of years and former employe of the Pennsylvania Railroad, died yesterday at his home. He had been in failing health for a number of months. Mr. Goad was employed by the railroad company for 40 years prior to entering the hotel business. The deceased was born in Hartford, Conn., on October 13, 1872, and came to Hyndman with his parents when he was a young man. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Margaret (Critchfield) Goad, and these children: Cloyd Goad, Manns Choice; Mrs. Marie Nee, Bedford, and Earl B. Goad, Hyndman. He also leaves 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Funeral services were conducted at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon in the Hyndman Methodist Church by Rev. Noble B. Blackburn. Burial was in the Bedford Cemetery under the direction of the Zeigler Funeral Home. Meyersdale Republican, June 12, 1941
