C. Gochringer, aged 37 years, died early Thursday evening, February 4th, after nine weeks' illness. She was in the best of health until stricken by a mysterious malady a year ago, after which time she was ill much of the time, but during her illness was patient and uncomplaining and had all the care that kind relatives, friends and physicians could give her. Her husband, three sons, Carol, Morris and Aubrey, one daughter, Lenice, her mother, Mrs. Lydia Savage, one brother, Oscar Savage, one half-brother, Tarley Hambertston of Sand Spring, and two sisters, Mrs. Ed Brougher of Johnstown, Pa., and Mrs. John Spear, of McHenry, survive her. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church and an active member in both the Missionary Society and Ladies' Aid. She was a devoted wife and a loving mother and made many friends, and will not only be missed in the home, but in the entire community. The funeral services were largely attended and were held in St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Sunday, at 10:30 a.m., with Rev. A. B. Harper officiating. Music was furnished by the Friendsville Quartette, who sang several beautiful hymns. E. H. Ault, George Miller, Lloyd Miller, Conrad Schmale, Luther Keller and John Fritz were the pallbearers. The floral tributes were beautiful. The flower bearers were Misses Gladys Hetrick, Olive Frickey, Beryl Savage, Lena George and Betty and Geraldine Glotfelty. Interment in the cemetery of Zion Lutheran Church, with Undertaker Wm. Winterberg in charge. Meyersdale Republican, February 11, 1932
