She was born at Coalport, Ohio, March 17, 1879, a daughter of Isaac and Elizabeth (Morris) Thomas. She was the widow of John J. Golby, who preceded her in death by twenty years. Mrs. Golby has been a resident of this vicinity for forty- three years. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church where she was faithful in attendance up until her recent illness. She had been in ill health for three years. Mrs. Golby is survived by three children, Thomas, Leonard and Mrs. Thomas Watkins, all of Berlin, and by four grandsons. Also surviving are four sisters, Mrs. Harry McElwee, South Fork; Mrs. Frances Haggins, Windber; Mrs. Robert McIntyre, and Mrs. John Helsel, both of Houtzdale. Services were held at her late residence Saturday at 2:30 p.m. with her pastor, Rev. Robert S. Nagle, officiating. Interment in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Berlin, under the direction of Johnson and Son. All of the sisters of Mrs. Golby and many out-of-town relatives and friends were in attendance. Meyersdale Republican, August 21, 1947
