Gomer, 85, of Meyersdale RD 4, died June 12, 1996, at Memorial Hospital, Cumberland, Md. Born Aug. 7, 1910, in Southampton Township. Son of the late James T. and Maude (Beall) Gomer. Also preceded in death by wife, Catherine E. (Geiger) Gomer, on Sept. 6, 1993, and by two brothers and three sisters. Survived by three sons: Robert L. Gomer, Hyndman RD 1; George T. Gomer Jr., Malvern, Ohio; Ronald D. "Syke" Gomer, Meyersdale RD 4; four daughters: Zona Y. Murphy, Canton, Ohio; Bonnie E. Lepley, Wellersburg; Hazel A. Mallow, Cresaptown, Md.; Audrey L. Mull, Hyndman RD 1; 21 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren. Also survived by four sisters: Hazel McKenzie, Cresaptown; Ruby Witt, Ridgeley, W. Va.; Edna Kennell, Wellersburg; Mildred Aristidou, Baltimore. Retired with 27 years of employment as a crane operator for Western Maryland Railroad, Cumberland. Previously employed for 28 years as a coal miner. Attended Calvary Bible Church in Ellerslie. Member of Kennells Mills Sportsman's Club. Friends received from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home, Hyndman, where services will be conducted at 12:30 p.m. Sunday, Rev. Ken L. Korns officiating. Interment, White Oak Cemetery.
