Gomer died at 11 p.m., Friday, Jan. 2, at his home, Sand Patch, R.D. 1. A retired carpenter and expert wood workman, he was aged 69 years, 11 months and 21 days at the time of his death. He was born in Pennsylvania, January 28, 1878, a son of the late Daniel and Hannah (Comb) Gomer. His wife, Maude (Beall) Gomer, preceded him in death about three years ago. Surviving are two sons, George T., Hyndman; Lewis F., Cumberland; and seven daughters, Mrs. Anna Echelberger, Cumberland; Mrs. Simon Crissinger, Sand Patch; Mrs. Lawrence McKenzie, Frostbury; Mrs. Paul Sell, Sand Patch R.D. 1; Mrs. Albert Kennell, Wellersburg; Mrs. Ralph Ansell, at home, and Miss Mildred Gomer, Baltimore. Eighteen grandchildren also survive. Funeral services were held at 2:30 Monday afternoon, January 5, at the White Oak Evangelical Church, in charge of Rev. A. F. Richards. Interment was made in the church cemetery, under the direction of W. C. Price & Son. Meyersdale Republican, January 8, 1948
