  GONDEK
  
    Helen E. Gondek, 88, of White Horse Rd., Berlin (Macdonaldton), died Feb.
  28, 2001 at UPMC Montefiore, Pittsburgh.   Born July 31, 1912 in
  Brothersvalley Township, daughter of Kazmir and Mary (Novak) Stapinsky. 
  Preceded in death by  parents, husband Joseph, and brother John Novak. 
  Survived by these children: James married to the former Marlene Speicher,
  Houston, Texas and JoAnne married to Thomas Smith, Berlin.  Grandchildren:
  Robert Gondek, Christine Schiwart, Amanda Smith Custer, and Ryan Smith. 
  Great-grandchildren: James Schiwart, Charles and Sylvia Gondek, and Anthony
  and Courtney Cryer.  Also survived by a brother: George Stapin, Twinsburg,
  Ohio.  Member of St. Gregory's Catholic Church, Macdonaldton.  Family will
  receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Deaner Funeral
  Home, Berlin, where vigil for the deceased will be held at 8:30 p.m. 
  Funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Gregory's Catholic
  Church, Macdonaldton, Rev. Donald Dusza officiating.  Interment, St.
  Gregory's Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorial masses would be
  appreciated.
