  GONDER
  
    Walter B. Gonder, Sipesville, died June 29, 1977, at Somerset Community
  Hospital.  He was born in Jenner Township, son of Edmund and Amanda (Pardee)
  Gonder.  He was preceded in death by his parent, a brother Edmund, and a
  sister Opal.  He is survived by his widow, the former Margaret Johnston and
  a daughter Jean Yvonne Pompelli, Sacramento, Calif.; two grandchildren;
  Gregory K and Lt. Beth Ann Pompelli.  He was a brother of Percy F., Spokane,
  Wash.; Mrs. Doll O'Connor, Boswell RD 1; Frederick, Omaha, Neb.; Mrs. Ida
  Imhoff, Piedmont, W. Va.; Mrs. Ann Ward, Ridley Park, Pa.; Mrs. Mabel
  Dietz, Johnstown; and Mrs. Mildred Close, Pittsburgh.  He was a member of
  Mt. Laurel United Church of Christ, Jenner Township.  He was a veteran of
  World War I.  He served in the U. S. Navy.  Friends were received from 7-9
  p.m. Thursday and will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday at the
  Joseph H. Hoffman Funeral Home, 227 Allegheny Street, Boswell, where
  services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, the Rev. Richard H.
  Shellenberger officiating.  Interment, Beam Cemetery.
