Born June 29, 1927, in Somerset, the son of Clarence William and Hazel Pearl (Platter) Gorman Sr. Preceded in death by parents, brother George Fredrick "Fred" Gorman and grandson Ian. Survived by wife, the former Betty Elaine Reedy, to whom he was married 59 years; children, David L. Gorman and Gail, wife of Ross W. Auman, both of Somerset. Grandchildren, Shawn R. Auman and wife Nicole, Duncansville, and Jessie Auman, Pittsburgh; great-grandsons, Camden James Auman and Will Andrew Auman. Also survived by nephew, Larry Reedy and niece, Barbara Reedy. A 1945 graduate of Somerset High School, U.S. Army veteran of World War II, worked as a Carman for B&O Railroad until his retirement in 1985 with 37 years of service. Was also a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Lodge 358 F&AM for 51 years where he was past Worshipful Master, Altoona Jaffa Shrine. Also, Brotherhood of Railroad Car Men of America and Union TCU. Friends received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home, Somerset, where a service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, with the Rev. Linda J. McElroy officiating.
