L. Goughnour, pastor of the Meyersdale Main Street and the Summit Mills Brethren churches from 1910 to 1916 and 1920 to 1924, died in the State Hospital, Scranton, Pa., on Wednesday, Dec. 20, after a long illness. He was a native of Johnstown, a graduate of Ashland College theological seminary and Temple and Columbia Universities. He was very popular in Meyersdale, during his ministry here, both as a preacher and public-spirited and progressive citizen. He went from here to Nanticoke, Pa., where he served a Welsh Presbyterian congregation very acceptably for some years. At the time of his death he had been pastor for some years of the Tabernacle Congregational Church. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Blanche Goughnour; a son Lynn, an instructor in Valley Forge Military Academy at Wayne, Pa., and a sister, Mrs. H. W. Darr, Johnstown.
