  GOWARTY
  
    Arthur S. Gowarty Sr., 83, of Middle Street, Jenners, died Dec. 15, 1999,
  at Good Samaritan Nursing Care Center, Johnstown.  Born Sept. 30, 1916, in
  Six Mile Run. Son of Michael and Pearl (Figard) Gowarty.  Preceded in death
  by parents, daughter Shirley; brothers John and Robert.  Survived by wife,
  the former Jennie J. Soha; children: Blanche I., married to John Conzatti,
  Jerome; Arthur S. Jr., Thomas E. and Wayne R. "Tub", all at home; Edward
  M., married to former Patricia Ewing, Jerome; and Bernard E., married to
  former Roberta "Bucky" Begley, Boswell; 11 grandchildren, 10
  great-grandchildren.  Brother of Blanche Dodson, Jenners; Josephine
  Carpenter, Jenner Cross Roads; and Kenneth, married to former Nancy Donia,
  Jenners; brother-in-law of Helen (Soha) Gowarty, Jenners; Ray Shaw,
  Jennerstown; Fred Soha and wife Gwen, Minneapolis, Minn.; Adam Soha,
  Cleveland, Ohio, and Henry Soha and wife Virginia of Jerome.  Member of
  Jenner Rod and Gun Club and UMWA.  Local coal miner for more than 40 years.
  Observed 64th wedding anniversary Nov. 23, 1999.  Avid hunter and fisherman.
  Friends received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Hoffman Funeral Home,
  Main Street, Boswell, where service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Rev.
  Father Martin Breski officiating.  Interment, Somerset County Memorial Park.
