  JOHN S. GOWER
  
    John S. Gower, 77, Confluence RD 3, died April 21, 1983, at his home.
    He was born Nov. 10, 1905, the son of the late Bruce and Jane (McNair)
  Gower.
    He is survived by his wife, the former Effie Smith; two daughters, Mrs.
  Carolyn Conley of Aliquippa; and Mrs. Eileen Glover, of Warren, Ohio; one
  son, Wendel Gower of Washington, Pa.; 10 grandchildren and four
  great-grandchildren.  His death ended a marriage of 55 years.  He was a
  member of the United Methodist Church, Harnedsville.
    Friends were received at the Humbert Funeral Home, Confluence, where
  services were held with the Rev. Aimee Twigg and the Rev. Richard
  McClintock officiating.  Interment, St. Paul's Cemetery.
