"Pete" Grandstaff, 66, of Keyser, W.Va., died Oct. 25, 1997, at the Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland, Md. Born Oct. 28, 1930, at Piedmont, W.Va., he was the son of the late Francis Eugene Grandstaff and Gladys M. (Sweitzer) Rhodes. Also preceded in death by his stepfather, Walter P. Rhodes, and one son, Donald Craig Grandstaff. Retired truck driver for Pittsburgh Plate Glass, Cumberland, Md. Member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Fort Hill. U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. Survived by 2 daughters: Kathy L. Grubbs, Keyser, W. Va.; Karen S. Holderby, Burlington, W. Va.; 6 grandchildren: Joshua Grubbs, Michael Grubbs, Ryan Grubbs, Garrett Grubbs, Allyssa Grubbs and Carly Holderby. Friends were received Monday at the Rotruck-Smith Funeral Home, Keyser. Funeral services will be conducted in the funeral home chapel at 11 a.m. Tuesday, with the Rev. William Triebe officiating. Interment, Philos Cemetery, Westernport, Md. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the Mineral County Chapter of the American Cancer Society, c/o Farmers and Merchants Bank, 87 N.
