Granistosky Sr., 70, of 216 West Ave., Jerome, died Aug. 14, 1996, at home. Born Feb. 9, 1926, in Jerome, son of Joseph and Alice (Smithko) Granistosky. Preceded in death by parents; sisters: Helen Cenci, Jean Balint-Scheer, Gladys Roeg, Marie Vannoy and Lydia Baraniak, and brother, Stanley. Survived by wife, the former Kathleen "Tootie" Konieczny, and these children: Master Sgt. Joseph J. Jr., married to the former Stacy Yoder, USAF, Ft. Bragg, N.C.; Denise, at home; Joy Lynn, Camp Hill; also granddaughter, Sara. Brother of Estella DelGaudio, Spring Hill, Fla.; Stephenie Gallissini, South Amboy, N.J., and Anita Frampton, Conemaugh. Member of St. Anne Catholic Church, Davidsville; Jerome Sportsmen Association; Jerome Nest 556, Polish Falcons of America; Jerome Post 802, American Legion, and USWA. Navy veteran of World War II and Korean Conflict. Retired from former Johnstown Plant, Bethlehem Steel Corp., with 32 years of service. Observed 31st wedding anniversary May 15, 1996. Friends received from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and 2 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Hoffman Funeral Home, Main Street, Boswell, where wake service will be held at 3 p.m. Friday. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Anne's Chapel, Jerome (former Holy Cross Church), Rev. Msgr. Francis A. Ackerson, celebrant. Interment, Holy Cross Cemetery.
