  Edward L. Grasser, 76, of Laurel Crest Manor, Ebensburg, formerly of
  Johnstown and the Boswell area, died Jan. 25, 1989, at Mercy Hospital. 
  Born Feb. 6, 1912, in Conemaugh Township, Somerset County, son of John N.
  and Ellen (Beener) Grasser.  Preceded in death by parents; sisters: Mary
  Hammer, Regina and Anna Grasser and Eva Saylor; brothers: Fred, Albert,
  William, James and Henry.  Brother of: Margaret, widow of Mahlon Thomas,
  Boswell; Joseph, married to former Margaret Hanitsch; and Elizabeth, widow
  of William Hopps, all of Johnstown; and Jacob, married to the former Lucy
  Berkebile, Lancaster.  Also numerous nieces and nephews.  Member of St.
  Joseph's Catholic Church, Boswell.  Friends received 7-9 p.m. Thursday and
  2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Friday at Hoffman Funeral Home, Allegheny St.,
  Boswell, where wake service will be held at 8:30 p.m. Friday.  Mass of
  Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Church, Monsignor Samuel
  J. Tomaselli officiating.  Interment, O'Connor Cemetery.
