Grasser, 79, Hollsopple RD 2, died unexpectedly March 2, 1984, at home. Born Nov. 4, 1904, in Jenner Township, Somerset County, son of John and Ellen (Beener) Grasser. Preceded in death by wife, former Martha T. Trevorrow, who died March 9, 1983; daughter, Martha, who died in 1964; and these brothers and sisters: Fred, William, Eva Saylor, Mary Hammer, and Anna Grasser, also infant sister and brother. Survived by daughter, Mary Frances, wife of Douglas Vogel, Hollsopple RD 2; and grandchildren, Jennifer and Douglas. Brother of: Margaret Thomas, Boswell; Elizabeth Hopps, Jenners; Albert, New Baltimore; Joseph and Edward, both of Johnstown; and Jacob, Lancaster. Member of St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, Boswell; Fraternal Order of Eagles Lodge No. 1801 Somerset; Greater Ferndale Sportsmen's Club; Ideal Volunteer Fire Co.; Central Pa. Police Association; and Travelers Protective Association. Retired from former Arrow Furniture Co., Johnstown, and Yoder's Cloverfarm Store, Thomas Mills. Friends were received Sunday evening, and will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Hoffman Funeral Home, 409 Main St., Boswell, where wake service will be held at 8 p.m. Monday. Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph's Church, the Rev. Samuel Tomaselli. Interment, Mt. Carmel Cemetery. Daily American, March 5, 1984 [G0897]
