Born in Meyersdale, he was a son of the late Albert and Elizabeth (Sheetz) Graves. He was a retired city fireman, retiring as a lieutenant in 1949 after 25 years service with the department. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Cumberland; the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie 245, and a member of the Police and Firemen's Welfare Association. Surviving are his wife, the former Sarah B. Gormer; a daughter, Mrs. Catherine Breedlove, Cresaptown; three grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. Mary Jewell, Ridgeley, W. Va.; and Mrs. Alice Kemp, Meyersdale. Friends are being received at the George Funeral Home, Cumberland. Meyersdale Republican, March 22, 1973 [G0900]
