Born in Meyersdale December 10, 1904, she was the daughter of George and Mary Katherine (Wetmiller) Shockey. She is survived by her husband, William Hall Green, one daughter, Betsy H. Woodman, of Newburyport, Mass.; one granddaughter, and two sisters: Cleo M. Shockey and Margaret S. Cross, both of Butler; a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers. Mrs. Green had been a registered nurse at the Butler County Memorial Hospital from 1948 to 1971. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Butler and a member of the Women's Social Christian Service. She was a 1930 graduate of the John Hopkins University School of Nursing in Baltimore, Md. Friends were received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Butler. A memorial service was conducted at the First United Methodist Church, Butler, with the Rev. David D. Wilson officiating. Committal service was held at the Berlin I.O.O.F. Cemetery. The family requests that memorial contributions go to First United Methodist Church of Butler or the Mid-Western Pennsylvania Heart Association. The Republic, December 21, 1978 [G0940]
