Green, 76, of Somerset RD 6, died Sept. 19, 1976, in Somerset Community Hospital. He was born May 13, 1900, in Lincoln Township a son of the late David Green and Elizabeth (Moore) Green Gahring. Preceded in death by his first wife, Sylvia Glessner, and his second wife, Mary Benning, one son and one daughter in infancy, also a daughter, Virginia Hoffman and two brothers, Lester and Orlando. Survived by these children: Mrs. James Schrock, Floyd, Mrs. Sylvia Fay Harriall, and Harold, all of Somerset; Mrs. Richard Eitnier of Harrisburg. These sisters: Marie Bowers and Gladys Rupley, both of Harrisburg; and Goldie Gary of Somerset. These step-children: Janet, Imogene, Betty, Judy, Carol, Larry and Wayne, 13 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Member of Somerset Church of God and United Mine Workers of America. He was a retired coal miner. Friends will be received after 7 p.m. Monday in the Robert H. Halverson Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the Somerset Church of God with the Rev. Flavis L. Burroughs officiating. Interment, Bethany Cemetery. The body will be removed to the church to lie in state from 10 a.m. until the hour of service. Somerset Daily American, September 20, 1976. [G0950]
