Rev. Harry Brooks Greer Jr., 81, of Kitty Hawk, N.C. died May 6, 2001 at Britt Haven Nag's Head, N.C. Born July 13, 1919 in Oil City. Son of Harry Brooks and Clara Louise (Tembus) Greer. Preceded in death by parents, first wife Marion (Engle) Greer who died in 1956, and sister Averil Marsh. Survived by second wife, the former Leoma Catherine (Bittner) of Kitty Hawk, N.C. to whom he was married 40 years, and children: David Greer and wife Bonnie of Mansfield; Carol Ann Angelos of Kill Devil Hills, N.C.; Fred Earl Svoboda and wife Anita of Columbus, Ohio, and Mrs. Jane Melanie Janicki of Kitty Hawk, N.C. Also seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Brother of Mrs. Jeanne Butchart of Oil City. Member of the Kitty Hawk United Methodist Church. A 1937 graduate of Oil City High School, 1941 graduate of Moody Bible Institute of Chicago, and 1948 graduate of Albright Seminary in Reading. Served 43 years as a Methodist Minister with the Western Pennsylvania Conference of United Methodist Churches retiring in 1984. Serving last with the Elizabeth and McKeesport United Methodist Churches. Friends received from 9 until time of service at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home, Somerset, Rev. Harry C. Sherry officiating. Interment, Somerset County Memorial Park.
