Grenke, 72, of Stephens City, Va., died Feb. 18, 2004, at her home. Born July 26, 1931, in Somerset, the daughter of the late Arthur and Ada Harding Lape. Preceded in death by her husband, John W. Grenke Oct. 26, 1989, whom she married on Feb. 2, 1954, in Cumberland, Md. She is also preceded in death by a sister, Blanche Burkett, and two brothers, Roy Lape and Earl Lape. Survived by two daughters, Jodi A. Grenke and Robin L. Grenke, both of Stephens City, Va. She was a homemaker and a member of Trinity United Church of Christ in Gowanda, N.Y. All services will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, 115 Featherbed Lane, Winchester, Va. 22601; Esther Boyd Animal Shelter, 297 Landfill Road, Winchester, Va. 22602 or to the Handley Library, 100 West Piccadilly St., Winchester, Va. 22601.
