Pearl Grenke, 84, Bethlen Home, Ligonier, formerly of Berlin, died Aug. 27, 1987, at Latrobe Area Hospital. She was born Sept. 29, 1902, in Schellsburg, daughter of Frank and Emma (Henson) Egolf. Preceded in death by parents; husband, John F., in 1975; a son, Robert, killed in World War II; one brother and three sisters. Survived by these children: Mrs. James (Virginia) Hartman of Somerset; John W. of Winchester, Va.; and Telford G. of New Florence; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Also survived by a sister, Mrs. Ethel Coughenour of Berlin. She was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Berlin, and Berlin American Legion Auxiliary. She was a Gold Star mother of World War II. Friends will be received 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Saturday at the Johnson-Kuhlman Funeral Home, Berlin, where services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday with the Rev. Carl W. Schwarm officiating.
