Griffin, 81, Stoystown Road, Somerset, died Oct. 28, 1984, in Waynesburg. Born Feb. 12, 1903, in Somerset, a daughter of the late Charles H. and Jessie (Scott) Saylor. Preceded in death by husband, Clyde M. Griffin; one infant son and an infant sister. Survived by two daughters: Nancy, wife of George D. Haines, Windsor, Conn.; and Mary Jane Gregg, Waynesburg; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one sister, Helen S. Davis, Windsor, Conn. Lifelong member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Somerset; past matron of Trinity Chapter 138 Order of Eastern Star; past president of Soroptimist International of Somerset; past president of the Women's Business and Professional Club of Somerset; past noble grand of Wimodausis Rebekah Lodge No. 217 Somerset. Member of: Somerset Garden Club, Third Society of Farm Women, the Historical and Genealogical Society of Somerset County, Sweet Sixties of Grace Brethren Church, Somerset Grange, Association of Retired Persons, Samuel's Corners Homemakers, and 55 and Over Speeders. She owned and operated Somerset Paint and Supply Co. for seven years and worked in the recorder of deeds office in the courthouse where she retired in 1974. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today (Tuesday) in the Robert H. Halverson Funeral Home, where services will be conducted Wednesday at 10:30 a.m., with the Rev. William R. Mulford and the Rev. Cliff Wicks officiating. Interment, Husband Cemetery. Memorial service will be conducted by Trinity Chapter Order of Eastern Star at 7 p.m. Tuesday and Rebekah service at 7:30 p.m. Daily American, October 30, 1984 [G1010]
